ok i see ppl who work with mods making all of these cool 3d models...how i ask? well most of them use 3ds max 6. i go to see how much it is and *BOOM* it is friggin ridiculous @ $3500 how do they afford it?!?!?!?!

There is a 3rd option in there - some of us actually paid the full price Get a job, save your money, etc....

That's for a 1 yr license. Discreet is very diligent about protecting their products.

But 3DS Max may actually be much more than your really need at this stage of your 3d career.

There are some cheaper alternatives to the full 3DS Max package that will give you decent modeling capabilities - at a much lower price.
