Default 2 questions

my last thread is closed.. i promise im not stealing or doing anything wrong. i am running windows right now, which came with my computer. i lost the quick restore cds somehow and i need to reformat. i have some simple quick questions and ill try to help the forum out however i can in the future.

1. do i burn windows onto a cd-r or a dvd-r .. does it matter??

2. what process do i go through to delete everything before reinstalling, it says the version i have is newer than the one i want to install.

from what i remember i restart into Dos somehow? then do deltree C:\

then run D:\ setup.exe or something of that nature.. i have everything backed up and i just want to get it over with. ive paid for windows, i just dont have my quick restore cd anymore.

It doesnt matter what you burn it to. What you are looking to do is format. That information is widely available on the site via a search.

You wouldnt have to burn the CD's if you would contact the PC Maker and get a replacement set. It is legal to do. Which is exactly why the thread was closed before, and is closed yet again.
