Default Whats a good video editing laptop for about $800

(For some reason I can't post in the laptop section so if I mod could move this I would appreciate it.)

My friend wants a laptop for 1. Video Editing 2. gaming 3. video editing. Has a budget of $800 but if theres a great difference in performance he can stretch to a max of $1000. So what would be good?

Also if he goes 32bit should he get 2gb or 4gb and use the ~3gb that it allows?
And would a 7200rpm hard drive net a good gain over a 5400rpm in video editing?

Moved to the laptops section.

It was kinda hard, finding a game worthy laptop for around $800. So I found this one for $999:
Newegg.com - ASUS F8 Series F8Sn-A1 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T5450(1.66GHz) 14.1" Wide XGA 3GB Memory 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS - Laptops / Notebooks

There are laptops with 3GB of memory.

I think a 7200rpm drive in a laptop, could be a little too warm. If he wants 7200rpm, he should get an external.

You can edit with any laptop with a current architecture cpu, a firewire port, and enough hard drive space.

Keep in mind uncompressed video is like 400mb a minute.

The big issue is the gaming, you need a decent GPU which will jack the price up to at least $999.99
