  |  upgrading memory in Gateway laptop I am looking on ugrading memory in a gateway laptop. I called gateway to find out what RAM it will take. It uses ddr pc2700 200 pin. The guy told me that NOTHING will work in the laptop except their RAM. Is that true or was he just trying to sell me "gateway" ram???????????????????????????????

| Re: upgrading memory in Gateway laptop Yep, most any pc 2700 ram should work just fine. I got a stick of Patriot in my last lappy, which was a gateway, that was pc 2700. Worked perfectly if that helps.

| Re: upgrading memory in Gateway laptop Is this also true for Dell Laptops? I've heard they are only compatible with Dell RAM. I have an Inspiron 600m I'd like to upgrade - is it Dell only? The guys at Tigerdirect told me Dell only. |
