Default Problem with S-video cable

I have a dell inspiron 1420 laptop. I tried to connect tv to my laptop using Svideo cable. But it only displayed black and white graphics. What coul be problem? The cable or the laptop or the TV ?

Open your graphic properties in your control panel with your S-video hooked up to the television, then see exactly what your displaying out through the s-video.

You ccan set your resolution on the 'second' monitor(television) correctly and/or go into your television settings and check to see if your t.v s-video connection is set up correctly(you have it). but aside from that, ,there shouldn't be any problems after you fine adjust to your television.
