Default old lifebook c series

help please have old lifebook was running win 98 now xp home i think ive messed up some were , when i press the i key i get a 5 ,press k get a 2 , press o get a 6 and so on . ive done something wrong or not done something any help or advice would be very welcome , many thanks ..john..

You have your function key on.

Laptops that are small in form have the number pad over the keys you are talking about, they are probably written in blue lettering.

Look for the function key to press to unlock the number pad.
