Newegg.com - ASUS M51 Series M51Sn-X2 NoteBook Intel Core 2 Duo T8300(2.40GHz) 15.4" Wide XGA 4GB Memory DDR2 667 250GB HDD 5400rpm DVD Super Multi NVIDIA GeForce 9500M GS - Laptops / Notebooks

Is this laptop as great of a deal as it looks like? There has to be something wrong, better specs than all of the previous laptops I was looking at and at a far less price. =o

It really does look like a good deal - question on the specs though, its not a 64 bit processor is it? It didn't specifically state it on the specs I could see but I don't know if those processors are 64 bit anyway.

Core 2 Duo's are all 64 Bit compatible.

Now, the laptop I linked will probably be the one I get. I have a question, though. Is it possible to upgrade to Vista 64-bit from 32? If so, would it be worth it?

I'm not sure if you can just upgrade, but you can get Vista 64 bit and then install it. I have Vista 64 bit on my laptop, it is pretty nice. I have only found a few apps that support 64 bit though (a few Source games, some high power apps, and a few other things). If you decide in the future that you need 64 bit, then yes you can install it.

Calc is right. You can not jsut upgrade to 64 Bit. You will have to either dual boot between 32 Bit and 64 Bit or format and install 64 bit.
