thats another reason i like it NosBoost

HD videos would also look awesome

and it would frighten my old pentium D system to the brink of death :P

High definition TV looks great full screen on this model with a USB tuner.

oh cooool!

I have been wndering however if i would be better off wit the 15" XPS with a 8600M GT, since it would be more portable, but stil would let me get the fullHD resolution....i willl tell you what i go for when my GCSE results come out in august though :P thats when my parents plan on getting it for me

Regardless of of size, go with the model that has latest technology. It seems engineers reinvent the wheel with every new model. Port and DVD placement is important to me. Personally I hate models that put the DVD drive on the right side. It gets in the way of the mouse. The design of xps m1710 is perfect for my needs. The newer M1530 and the M1730 totally suck in comparison. But it all depends on how you are going to use it. By August there may be newer models to choose from.

im counting on that. that means either i can get this one for even cheaper, or i can get a new one with maybe a geforce 9 gfx card
