Re: Data Recovery Because I leave my laptop running all the time, I always expect the worse to happen. I keep my C: drive imaged and my other partitions backed up to external USB 2.5" HD enclosures.
Get another drive to fit into the new enclosure you have and get you a copy of Acronis True Image and use it as often as you need to.
If your data is that important take it to a data recovery specialist. They may charge over $2000 to get your lost data back. Acronis cost less than $50.
I had a laptop drive go bad once. I sealed in a plastic bag and put into the freezer for a few hours. With luck it fired right up in an external enclosure. I backed up as much as I could before it crapped out. At times I had to hold the drive at a certain angle to keep it going. I had to repeat this procedure several times to get everything. |
