Default Can't find driver for Atheros AR5001X wireless card

I just reformatted my 2 yr old Toshiba Satellite laptop with XP. It originally had Vista but I've been running XP on it for the last year. When I first loaded up XP a year ago, it took days of searching on the internet to find the driver but I eventually found it for free.

I spent hours yesterday looking for the driver and most links end up in an endless loop, to a pay site or to the useless Atheros website itself that offers no driver download support.

So many of the links that claim to offer the driver for this Atheros AR5001X don't really have the driver. Does anyone have any suggestions? I'd really like to get my wireless card up and running again. Thank you.

Hefe, I sent you a PM. I downloaded from that site but didn't get any driver, just instructions .

Good morning, Hefe. I went to the link that you provided trying to download a driver for my Toshiba's Atheros AR5001X wireless card. I clicked on "download" and downloaded a zipped file.

I unzipped it and got two folders: 1. ar5211 "System file" 565kb
2. net5211 "Setup Information" 64kb

I opened up #2 and it was just notepad information. No driver.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thank you for your help.

See the pick I uploaded. Press the download button and it should start in about 5 seconds. Once you download you will have a file named xp32-5.0.0.107-whql.zip 9.3 mb.

Unzip and run the setup.

I also just put the inf file in a zip for you to download and manually install as well.

I know it is the inf file for manual install. You do not open it.

find the wireless card in device manager. will either be a yellowed out network device or an unknown device. Right mouse click and update or install driver. Say have disk. browse to the location of the inf file and select it.

Or you can download the full file which has a setup.exe for you and install it that way.
