X800XL is only $300, not only that, the next gen of vid cards is coming out soon . . .

for one, that is a lot

2, that is with X800 Pro, which is a 12 pipe card

the XL and XT are both 16 pipeline cards

also, the 6800GT and 6800U are 16 pipeline cards, so you can't compare a GT with a Pro

well u can return ur xt or w/e u have thats 500 and buy nviidia it will probably be the same price as ur xt or w/e it is bt it will outperform ur 300 doller card u want + ur 500 doller one like out perform it by like 30 fps so go for 6800 gt

i dont like nVidia, i dont see why people say that they owned this generation, IMHO, they just sucked less

not only that, 6800GTs are about $400 for a GOOD DEAL and are hella loud

then i'd have to go buy some sort of arctic cooler, void the warranty, hope that its quiet enough, blah blah blah

But still get the GT and OC it to an ultra and you got a card that will pwn all of them. I did it and will never regret getting this sweet card.
