Default won't formatt my HDD

I was trying to re-install my windows xp fresh new.
I've tryed formatting it in NTFS.
It went slowly. It was very unusual because before it went faster than that. And than it stopped at 51%.
I restarted and did the re-install and tryed it in NTFS(fast)
It worked and I was booted on.
After installing everything. I ran a HDD disk checkup
They found some part to be damaged or something.
I haven't done anything to it. I've been using it fine for quite a while. Suddenly gives me this msg.
And it automatically reboots when I am using win xp if I have one of my program installed in one of the damaged partitions.
What is wrong?

i think it is already obvious to you so i don't know why you are asking this question. your hard drive may be failing, i would back up the data soon as possible. replace the hard disk.
