Default Samsung HDD Problems

Hello, I would first off like to welcome myself to these forums. Now down to the question. I bought a Samsung 80 GB 7200rpm/ATA133 HD from NewEgg.com and I go to install it on my Dell Deminsion 4600 and it will not read it. I tried the jumpers the way it says on the HD and on the Samsung website. I am trying to install this as a slave. My other hard drive is a Maxtor 80gb/ATA133. Any suggestions? Thanks.

If you are installing it on the same channel, you may need to set the first drive as 'master w/slave present'

Software wise:

The drive is not partitioned and formated. The o/s will not see it. If you have XP rightclick my computer>>manage>>disk management. Tell me if you see it now

Okay I see it there now, but it has only 32 GB. I guess I need to reset the jumpers (I tried several different ways). So what do I do after I get it all set?

Okay I think I may have it, I initialized the HD and started partitioning it I gave it the letter E with a NTFS file system. Am I doing the right thing?
