I just found a prity decent guide for optical media, digitalFAQ.com | Blank DVD Media Quality Guide I am sure some of you will find this more than useful.

my dad got into that stuff a couple years ago...so confusing. looking up high quality dvd's n such. People try to scam a lot too with it. Like the disc have special names and you have to use programs to find out. so confusing lol..i'd rather buy a 5 pack of cheap discs and hope i don't get a lot of coasters out of it lol

That's true, but I am shipping some clients various things on disk shortly an i tend to burn at least 3 CD's a day (don't ask) and i would rather (and i currently do) splash out on Tiau Udens only came across this to see if there was a cheeper alternative looks like there isnt.

From my research i believe Taiyo Yuden is the best brand and most reliable out there.
I also like verbatim but you gotta make sure its made from the right place...
