Default northbridge and southbridge?

Hey North Bridge of the Chipset is also known as the GMCH. What does GMCH stand for?
And the South Bridge of the Chipset is also known as the ICH.
What does ICH stand for?

Thanks

this GMCH and ICH are for Intel chipsets specifically.

and Northbridge is called GMCH only if there is integrated Graphic on the board. else MCH only.
