Default Networking Trouble

Right ,

ive got 1 ADSL Connection from Virgin Media running throught a wireless router modem downstairs in my work place

ive got lots of computer upstairs and i brought a cable modem and i want to use the router to give net access to all other machines

Ive got a Cross ovr cable ... and other network cables

and im running Wireless Connection to the ADSL Connection upstiars to this pc ... so i was thinking

Crossover Cable to Routers WAN Port , then connect all pc's up ? and share the connect from the wireless on this pc ? but it didnt seem to work !!!

How can i achieve this ?

Thanks John

so its like this

Wireless Router > PC Downstairs
Wireless > my PC > Router Wan Port > PC's Off it ? Will it work ? or not ?

Why not just run a CAT-5 from the router port to a switch then connect all the computers to it? Your wireless router will have wired ports as well, or should. Set up your router to DHCP and be sure you enable a large enough IP range.
ADSL modem>router>switch>pc's

You will have to set up internet sharing to do it, but yes it should work. You will have to have 2 NIC's in the first PC. How are the other PC's going to connect?
