need help

hello everyone

i just joined this forums

ok iam building my first computer and need some help with it

Iam thinking of building a AMD machine

the specs are:

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (Winchester core)

Thermaltake case
( Thermaltake Dream Tower Series -Tsunami VA3400SWA)

Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe nForce4 SLI (motherboard)

Corsair Value Select Memory 184 Pin 1GB DDR PC-3200

Western Digital 200 GB (SATA)

my main question is which video card should i buy for this specs

Redeon X700 Pro 256 MB or Geforce 6600 GT 128 (both are the same prices)

Personally Id say the 6600GT but that's just because I prefer Nvidia myself which I'm honestly tellin you instead of just simply saying ITS BETTER!

Specifically eVGA brand

instead of 1x 1gb memory stick I would go for 2x 512 and run them in dual channel which you can do with the socket 939 winchester AMD Athlon 64... the performance of this would be better than running just the single bigger memory stick!

I would also recommend the 6600GT as that what I have (and am very happy with)... I too prefer nVidia (and again thats just personal preference)

Yeah go for the dual channel memory with a 6600GT. Nice system anyway but if you did have that bit extra I would have gone with the 6800GT but thats not an option.

ok so 6600GT (128) is much better

but what if i put 2x256 X700 pro and 2x128 6600GT then which one is better.

is 256 (6600GT) better than 512 (X700 Pro) ?

and by the way thanks about the Memory I'll put 2x512 instead of one big 1GB
