then why do they have a Intel® Core™ Duo Processor listed for desktops on the intel website

well i had a look at the intel site and saw it listed under the desktop section as you said.....but with this description

i can almost guarantee you someone screwed up with regards to however you found out its a "core duo". unless there is actually a desktop board for them now or they have been ported to LGA775 you must have a Pentium D

If Pentium D is dual core ive been seeing celeron D, is that dual core too?

no. i'm not sure why it was called celeron D i think it has to do with an old naming system.
