Depends on your resolution

if its a GDDR2 512mb, stick with a GDDR3 256mb as its faster

if its a GDDR3 512mb, you probably don't need it unless your resolution is 1920x1200 or higher

resoultuon is 1024x768... so do you think 256 would be good?
