| Hi, I've got some video files (.avi) that i want to put onto a DVD, and thus be able to play on my DVD player. However I tried to burn them onto a DVD using .avi format but when i tried to play on DVD player it said that the format was not supported. Do you guys know what type of file the videos should be inand what program should i use to convert them? Im in UK with a PAL dvd player if it makes a differance Thanks |

| Retired. | Your DVD player doesn't support avi files -.- Burning avi files to a DVD and trying to play them WILL NOT WORK. You need to convert the avi files to the DVD format, which is universal if not regarding region codes. |

| Use Nero or any good burning program and it should be capable of doing it for you.

| generally no. it depends on the individual player though. many these days can playback a variety of formats including some MPEG4 encoded videos e.g. DivX/Xvid and x264.
