Nero comes with some sort of video editing package to compile your own dvds with menus and such from all sorts of formats......

Yeah, it does, but not on all versions if I recall correctly from when I used to use it...its only the higher priced version of nero that has it I think.

If you want it to play on all DVD players you should make it into an ISO file. I use Tmpgenc,DvdLab, Pgcedit and Imgburn to obviously burn it.

My DVD Player plays Avi and Divx. But yo uhave to spend more $$ for it.

If you want to covert more than 1 file and play it on a DVD Player. Nero Vision or Convertxtodvd.

If you would have read thru the Windows Sticky Index there is a thread all about this.

Recommended Software for certain tasks

Bunch of apps in there to try.

it's all relative to what you buy...what you can find where you live or what some place will ship to

Helios Labs - Connect to the future of digital home entertainment.

for free and easy to get...i think you can use windows media encoder to convert to wmv...then movie maker to disc....
or avi to nero or wmv to nero...I forget cuz I don't pay attention and dual boot
