Default Component Male Plug Question

I had a home theater guy come to my house and run 3 RG-6 wires for the component "in" to the projector, i think that was the name of the wire. but i have not been able to contact him to put the male plugs on. so my brother contacted a guy to come and do it but he thought i needed the composite type RCA style with the one video when i need the 3 composite video for high-def.

so my question is, are composite (RCA) and component plugs the same thing?

I worked at radio shack for a few years ... I believe that RCA and component are the same.
