I said the same thing to ag3....asked if I could download his brain but then said it probably had too much spyware and pr0n in it....I'm sure my brains the same

I got a good socket A motherboard and CPU, and my machine runs beautifully....of course when 64bit starts to be utilized I'll fall drastically, but right now I'm still up there considering performance. I'm running my mobile chip at 2.5GHz and currently only have 768mb of RAM running at pc2700 although one of those sticks is PC3200 ( the 512 ) but I'm going to be removing the 256 PC2700 for a second machine and then hopefully getting a 1gb kit of XMS for christmas or something, but overall I still have a powerful machine, and it will remain that way until 64bit is better utilized....which won't be in a couple years, so really in regards whether to get Socket 939 new AMD64 bit or Socket A is a tough decision.

yes, socket 940 are for Opterons (server CPU's), and the FX-51's and FX-53's
socket 939 can hold a 3000+, 3200+, 3500+, 3800+, FX-53 or FX-55 chip
socket 754 holds the Sempron 3100+, Athlon 64 2800+, 3000+, 3200+ and 3400+
note there is a difference between the socket 940 FX-53 and socket 939 FX-53

I reccomend if you have the money, to go with socket 939, but socket 754 is still pretty good

It will take some time before all programs will be released in 64bit. It will take even longer before they release games in 64bit.

The AMD 64 CPU's (socket 754, 939 and 940) also support 32bit, so basically get what u can pay for, but don't get the 940 for gaming

yes yes thanks you al again but topic is little bit old now i since then i have readed much and heared much opinions and suggestions my mind is made now i wil get the S754 with a 2,0Ghz and pair of corasir sticks of 255 MB with a MSI k8 neo nforce3 or something 800Mhz support but is the 800Mhz a bottle neck for my 2 sticks with 255 mb?????? because i plan to buy the 3200 with 400Mhz speed

I wil stick with this system for about 3 years and then i switch in the future for an PCI-EXPRESSm DUAL memory mainbord and good processor

But could some one answer the question about the 800Mhz mainbord with corsair memory with 400 Mhz

Thanks!!
