Default Bunch of Graphic questions.

Hmm ok, just trying to clear up a few things in my mind.

Do ATi cards have better OpenGL support or is that nVidia?

And does 3dmark06 have better OpenGL support? Heard something about whichever chipset supports OpenGL better usually scores better in 3dmark06.

don't think 3dmark uses openGL at all.. its a directX program

and Nvidia had better support for OpenGL

and ATi takes the crown in 3dmark.. and thats worse in OpenGL

Why does ATi usually take the crown in 3dmark?

Yea, nvidia has always ruled the OpenGL roost, reminds me of the "Doom 3 = nvidia / Half-Life 2 = ATI" days. Although things have changed a bit now a days.

Well that might explain current gen hardware but for a while now ATI has been fairly superior in 3Dmark. It's all in the code and engine really, some run more efficiently than others, and while 3Dmark tries to make it unbiased as possible it still runs better on ATI hardware.
