No, it's not broken. 65nm Brisbanes are well known good overclockers, getting more than 3GHZ quite frequently when paired with a good board.
My guess is that Barcelona was delayed not because of the transition to 65nm, but because its architecture has some major changes, and almost inevitably, they needed to fix some bugs.
But K10 is coming out this year definitely. I have heard September 10th as launch date.
and I am quite sure they are keeping K8 on 90nm mostly because they want to use their 65nm fabs to focus more on K10
