| Hello all, My name is David Marasco i have had a recent problem (about a month) with my XpertVison ATI radeaon 256mb the problem consists on lines start appearing on my screen. Example: if i am playing oblivion in the distant hills and trees in front of me, Huge lines will start appearing from those hills and trees and when i move the lines will move and it gets worse the longer i play, Takes about 1 to see the lines, Eample: If i am playing Quake 4/World of Warcraft the same thinkg will happen lines will satrt appearing from walls and my gun and enemys and wow lines will start to show up from the chat box and drag across the screen and longer i play for the worse it gets. so i just dont play any 3d games anymore seeing though thats when it seems to stuff up, because as soon as i get out of the game my computer is fine and no lines at all, I have Added a screenshot of quake 4 so you guys can get an idea of what im talking about this is about 3 mins of gameplay note if HTML picture dose not show up please click the link below it to take you to the picture http://i153.photobucket.com/albums/s...quake4test.jpg My System Specs and Driver details are. | Ultra Techie | I believe those are called Artifacts... More reading here... Diagnose your video card problems by comparing with example corrupted screens Download Hmonitor and tell us what the temps of your gpu are. Hardware sensors monitor for Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003 This tends to happen when the card overheats. Check and see if the fan on your card is working, or not packed with dust. And make sure you read that info.

| Ultra Techie | I found this from another forum thread... "If it's peaking >90C regularly in ATI Tray Tools, chances are you have a bad card, bad fan or similar. Most X850's run about peak of 82-85C.. with possibly rare peaks into the 88-90C zone. If it's at or above 90C regularly, you have a cooling/card issue." I dont know if thats right or not.. we'll see.. you can read the thread here radeon x850XT reboots - TechSpot Troubleshooting Your not overclocking your card are you? Also when you go to take the temp of your card.. launch Quake or oblivion then when you start seeing the artifacts Alt+Tab and minimize the game then check your temps. so we can get the temp your card is working at during the game.

| Ultra Techie | Found this to X850XT temps. [Archive] - techPowerUp! Forums They are getting 54C - 66C in oblivion... so at least that gives us something to go on...
