Im just doing some innocent tech-forum browsing in Opera when all of a sudden the screen goes black. The music from youtube keeps playing, a second later the screen comes to life again.

Im getting a new PC friday, yes, but Im going to need this monitor. If it goes wrong now im screwed; no money to buy another.

Its an Acer, AL1714 is the label on the top right. My mum picked it up so i guess its cheap.
Graphics card is an overclocked and unlocked Geforce 6800XT 128MB AGP.

I was probaly just a software error that made it shut down for a moment. You shouldn't have to worry.

I don't think there is much you can do to prevent it from happening again. It could be anything from a power failure to a software malfunction.

Your best bet is to wait and hope it doesn't happen again unless someone here has experience with a problem like this.

that happened to me too, turns out it was that the power cord had loosened in the back...just needed plugging back in
