Wireless question

I'm not sure if this is in the right forum or not but our wireless router is about 30ft from my room (i have no idea how close i am. if it matters i can measure) my signal strength isn't that great and if someone uses the microwave I lose my connection. Is there anything I can buy to make the signal strength greater?

Also position your antenna on the wireless router and on the computer upwards, and not pointing down or to the side.
