Why does a USB extension cable causes occasional flash drive write error?
Whenever my USB flash drive is plugged in this USB extension cable, the computer occasionally displays "Cannot write to drive [x]:. Data or files may be lost." Meanwhile plugging the flash drive directly to the CPU's usb port doesn't cause any problems at all.
Why does a USB extension cable causes occasional flash drive write error?
Re: Why does a USB extension cable causes occasional flash drive write error?
Hello,
Two potential reasons:
1. Not enough power running throught the USB cable as it may be too long.
2. Inteference, though the cable does have a ferrite bead to eliminate interference.
