Default What software can I use to test for errors?

whats the best software out there that will test for both graphics and cpu for errors?

I don't care if I have to pay for it, I just need to make sure my graphics and cpu is working.

I have tried mark3d but it said resolution is not enough.... go no clue what that means.

Well... you can stress test both your CPU/GPU by playing games.

CPU: OCCT, Orthos, Prime95
GPU: ATiTool has a built in artifact tester
edit: oops, i see you have Vista...AtiTool doesn't like Vista... you can always play a nice GPU intensive game to test it out.

What's the problem you're having that you need to test to see if they're working properly?

Well I recently bought the q6600 and paid new for it, but they only had open box. And I would like to know if its working at its fullest. (it looks normal to me, but just want to make sure as I got 15 days money back.)

Stress it on Stock with Orthos.
If its working properly that means no errors , before you stress make sure your RAM is at stock setting too.
Good Luck
