| What could this be? I know it could be a number of things but does anyone have a suggestion? It started about 7 days ago that my computer would just restart by itself. It did this several times in a short period. Now it has only done it a couple of times in the last several days. What does it sound like?

| Re: What could this be? I have sometimes seen this happen when a capacitor on the mobo near the cpu goes bad. Try looking at them and see if the tops of any of them are bulging. It's not a very common thing but it is easy to check. |

| Re: What could this be? Cause
Bug check 0x50 usually occurs after the installation of faulty hardware or in the event of failure of installed hardware (usually related to defective RAM, be it main memory, L2 RAM cache, or video RAM).
Another common cause is the installation of a faulty system service.
Antivirus software can also trigger this error, as can a corrupted NTFS volume.
farinha was on it. Run memtest Memtest86+ - Advanced Memory Diagnostic Tool
The two most likely causes of the BSOD is ram and drivers. This time you have the former.

| Re: What could this be? I would recommend to run memtest for a few hours, to ensure that all RAM is tested properly.
