Default Video files periodically crashing computer, help!

I've yet to determine what is causing this problem, but there's a few actions I've done that has caused my computer to crash. Sometimes I doube click a video file, and it'll just plain crash/restart my computer, sometimes it doesn't. On an occassion or two I've let a video idle in a player and will go to resume it and it'll crash, and last it likes to crash the most often when I close the media player i'm using with the video loaded. This problem occurs in Windows Media Player, Winamp and DivX..so it's not just one player. All my video drivers are up to date that I know of. Does anyone have any idea what's wrong? What info do you need from me to determine the problem? Thank you for your time.

Is it any video files or just certain ones?

Update or reinstall your video driver. Or rollback to the previous version in Device Manager if you recently updated it.
