I've been having trouble pulling video from my mini DV into my editor.

The miniDV is played in the camera, which is connected to an ADS (brand name) converter via RCA jacks. The unit is connected to the computer via firewire (the only out to it). I'm using Nero 6 as my capture software. It's worked fine up until now, and I just captured stuff last week. Yesterday, it started to crap out.

Any suggestions?

I also have an ADS capture, mine is pci and uses s-video or composit. What do you see in Nero ?

click start
then run
type sysdm.cpl
hit enter

then click hardware
then click devices
see if you see any errors. like a red X or !

1. the device could be broken (ADS or CAMERA)
2 you may not be receiving video from the camera
3. or the drivers need to be uninstalled and the reinstalled for the capture device

Did you try contacting ADSs tech support or seeing if they have a forum.?
