Default Using Mic And Stereo Mix!

Hey All,im new to the forum so please go easy on me .

im trying to record a few games on my laptop they have music on them and i want to be able to talk over the music, but still have a good quality. But if i just use my microphone the sound is all distorsted, and sound really bad,( The music this is), and my mic sounds fine, but when i turn to steroe mix,the sound is fine but i cant hear my microphone, all my sound levels are ok,nothing is muted, iv tried going into my speakers option to find the the sliders for the mic and inout, but all i get is PCbeep and sound, Can anyone tell me how to enable stereo mix and use my mic so that i can hear it and the sound quality is still good? im on an acer aspire 5720 its on vista, home premium 32 i think, and im using realtek hd audio, the microphones iv tried are my built in one and the one you plug into the pink slot at the front, thanks guys
