Default Sound Card Problem

Hello im currently using a Creative Audigy SoundBlaster LS. When I switched OS's from Windows XP to Server 2003 I cant seem to get the soundcard to work anymore. I installed the drivers but when I attempt to play anything I get the error

"Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."

Also If i go to volume controll it says I have no mixer installed. Yet when I checked under device manager everything is installed and running correctly. Any ideas on this?

Completly uninstall all creative programs from add remove programs and uninstall the device in device manager, then use creatives auto update active X control from their website.
