Default Setting up new wireless n router

hey guys, so i am trying to set up my new linksys wireless n gigabite router and i have successfully done so. The problem i have is that i am not sure if it is actually detected through my computers. I set the router up with my other ADSL router and wasnt sure if that was the proper way to connect it but it said it installed properly. I named the new router the same SSID as the adsl router but i set it with a WPA key, yet it still shows up as WEP on my latop. Therefore, I am thinking that it is not detected or that possibly it is not possible to connect this new router with a adsl router.

if anyone can help i will appreciate it. Thanks

switch the ssid on the new router to ensure that you are connecting to it. You can also try to turn off wireless on your old one.

Do you need to? I am a bit confused. You have a modem and 2 routers or a modem/router with a new router?
