And now my machine won't start. I thought it would be pretty cool to just type in a word and have my computer start, But I was oh so wrong. Could it be because I'm using a wireless mouse/keyboard?

Silly problem. Fixed by reseting CMOS through jumpers.

you can also reset CMOS by removing the CMOS battery on the motherboard. and i would say that no problem is silly, that's what these forums are for. to educate each other and solve the problem.
