| yeah.... i'm talking about the time to wipe out a haed drive [no reformat..reformat comes after].. ..this failing unit i have takes 3 hours and a half for 1 sibgle pass using killdisk or wipedrive.... -in other forums..i read that a 320 gig -1 single pass- takes 1 hour.. -my question is -- why the difference... -is it because my hd started to fail ? |

| One dumb Techie | You're trying to wipe out unused programs in your current HDD correct? Your HDD takes about 3-1/2 hours just for 1 single pass of KillDisk or WipeDrive. Other people with a 320GB HDD, takes only about an hour to finish either 1 of those 2 programs. The problem could be that your HDD's life span is about to end. Do you get any BSODs?
