I was enjoying using my new graphics card for a few weeks playing counter strike when all of a sudden it dies!

Squares all over my display then total darkness, put in old crappy video card and everything fine but can't play games

My PSU is 300W would changing the PSU help? My MoBo has a 20 Pin connection my new PSU has a 24 Pin plug would using an adapter affect the PSU performance?

Any other suggestions? Im not happy, it was not a cheap card and I love gaming! Please help I need some knowledge.
