Random and Frequent Restarts with a BSOD

Lately I have been suffering random restarts on my PC, sometimes when the pc is under stress or when its idle (basically they are completely random) but is always fine when playing COD4 mp, the screen goes blank and I get a BSOD saying:

Stop: C000021a {fatal system error} system is being shutdown...0xC0000005....(0x7c911fc6 0x0052f06c)

then it dumps the memory onto the disk

is this hardware or software related? replys will be appreciated...thanks, nick

Have you installed anything new recently? Checked temps? Run memtest?

I've installed office 2003 but that shouldnt really be the problem but it did it before that, I can only think it's an error with the OS as my pc hasnt been right for a while and I think its in need of a format as Linux is running fine, I will run memtest but it will have to be next week as I'm going to my nans for the wkend
