Dual core = two processor dies in one ------ Pentium D/Core 2 Duo/Pentium dual-core, etc
Quad core = four processor dies in one ----- Core 2 Quad
Single core = one processor core in one ---- Pentium 4/Celeron/etc, you know what i mean
Tri core = non-existent

AMD:
single core: 1 core
dual core: 2 single cores
tri core: 4 single cores with one turned off due to malfunction

I remember that AMD sempron is pretty same as celeron.
I also think AMD XP is same as P4.. not sure.. btw thanks for the help.
