pioneer dvr-108bk

ok i had this drive working fine in one system. bought new system and put it in there. the drive worked fine for installing windows on the new system but for some reason would lock up the system after windows was installed.
I tried firmware upgrades, uninstalling the drivers and letting windows reinstall them but im lost. for some reason it just doesnt want to work in this system.. wondered if any of you guys had an idea whats up?
