Default my Core2 duo build won't boot from CD

Okay, so I took my computer down to a shop to have an upgrade, mostly to just clone the hard drive to a new system. When I brought it back home though and booted the old system up, it gets stuck in a windows 7 repair loop and just reboots over and over. I cannot get it to recognize the windows XP cd. I tried it on my new computer and it recognizes the CD just fine. I tried checking the CD rom connections, everything seems ok. Any help please?

Hi,

Just to clarify, did you have Windows 7 installed on your old machine already, before you took it to the shop?

I'd think maybe you jiggled some cables loose. Open up the case and check the connections.

Yeah it's weird. I did have win 7 (and still do) have win 7 installed on the old PC. I checked the cables inside the box, everything was snug. Do you think trying an external CD USB drive will work?

Are you sure that you have your dvd drive listed before your hard drive in boot priority in bios?

Yes, I made sure over and over that the CD/DVD is FIRST.
