Do you have your computer set for hibernation that causes problems with XP.

So I take it the keyboard and mouse are both usb models?
You could be right, drivers might be the issue. Post your mobo number, and I'll see if I can find an update for you.

Hello,

Go to the Device Manager, and for both your mouse and keyboard devices in question, go to Properties, then click on the Power Management tab.

Ensure that 'Allow this device to wake the computer' is checked.

If that doesn't work, check your BIOS for any power management and sleep/resume settings.

If that doesn't work, reinstall your keyboard driver, and install the driver for your mouse. When you resume, do your kb/mouse have power? (any lights on the keyboard on? is the optical light on the mouse on?)
