Havn't had any trouble with my 18'' CRT Samtron model for ~2years now but all of a sudden everytime i turn the moniter on it sqeaks this very high pitch sound for around 30 seconds before it returns normal. Now this happens every time I turn on my moniter. Is something broken inside or do I have some settings tuned up wrong.

I'm sure the monitor is just going bad. CRT's have the tendancy to do that. Mine, after being shut off for a while, takes about 30 seconds to a minute to fully fill up the screen/fully display the colors because the CRT inside has to "warm up" per se. You're lucky that you're getting a "warning" of it going bad though xD. My older one, just all of the sudden wiped out while I was on it lol. It blacked out from the left to right side, kinda like a wave xD.

yeah, ditch and get another m8. I recommend the Samsung SyncMaster 957MB, or Sony's GDM-C520K.
both r CRT monitors, which give better quality display then LCD's do. Better quality, better gaming!
If you REALLY want an LCD tho, try the Samsung SyncMaster 204B.
