Lines, colors, and black outs

Hi all,

My PC all of the sudden is having issues. For some reason I got it booted, before boot up would take longer than usual and would end in a black screen (occasionally the monitor would be searching for a source it couldn't find)

Negative colors appear sometimes. Lines flickering both thin and thick. I've seen the dollar symbol in lines across the screen...among other signs.

I'm thinking video card, but Its working find now. I'm going to boot into a game and report back.

PLEASE, any ideas?

That weird. Im not a specialist with a computer but if that would happen I would ask a specialist what is going on. Could it be a motherbored problem? or Even Maybe a GFx Card? I wonder what happen.

Its the card. I threw in my friends 9800GT and it works fine. This REALLY sucks, but luckily my 4870 has a 2 year warranty. So I'm hoping to call em' tomorrow morning.
