XP Pro installation can recognize my HDD in my Hypersonic Aviator GX7 laptop quite fine... I'm using it right now.

Quite obviously, my computer recognizes these hard drives as I am running the OS off of it at the moment.


Since this is a second computer, I use it for experiments... installing Vista beta 2 to see how it is, installing Mac OSx86 to see if it'll run on it, installing benchmark copies of Windows to see how they are, etc. Except, I can't do any of that, because none of these OS installers recognize my hard drives... I have the Intel 8280 1eb Ultra ATA controller - it SHOULD operate off of generic drivers that installers use.


Any ideas/advice?

do you have the jumpers set to master? How big is the drive?

I've tried jumpers set to Master, and Cable Select. The drive is a 60gb Hitachi.
