Default IDE Controller Card ???

I've got a new computer delivered and was trying to install the secondary hard drive which came from the previous computer. The problem is that the new computer only has slots for the latest serial type hard drive. I don't see a slot that accomodates the old IDE type. I chatted with a Dell technician on line.
He said I need to purchase a IDE controller card and put it on a PCI slot. I just want to make sure that what he said is right. If he is right, I'll appreciate if you can tell me anything I need to check before I buy one and recommend a good product.

Thank you,
Joan

Hey joan kim

As far as I know, all current motherboards have at least one IDE slot.

Yes. That PC doesn't have any IDE slots. You need to get a PCI IDE Controller card.

Thank you all for your suggestions.
I was researching on line for more and I found out IDE to ATA converter also can do the same job. Which one will be more suitable in my situation?
Can anyone tell?
