Default hp dc7600, intel 945g chipset, usb 2.0 problem

Hello friends,

I can't get my USB ports to work as USB2.0, they work as USB1.1. Anyone know why? I'm running windows XP SP3 and my front USB ports are unplugged.

I had this problem in my old comp after every XP install; go to the Device Manager (windows key+pause/break, hardware tab, device manager) and reinstall your USB drivers.

I tried that it didn't work. I forget with which drivers though. I will try it again when/if I get a chance. Thanks for the help

Have you checked the PC Manufacturer's website for the latest set of chipset drivers? Those usually incorporate USB Drivers as well.

Yes those are the ones I have and some other ones. This was my friends computer and I am no longer in possession of it.

I had this problem with my old computer. I think I will try to uninstall all of them and install the drivers I want for them. Hopefully he'll be able to do this over the phone.
