Default How to tell what idle and load cpu temperature is..

I am trying to figure out a way to be able to dictate how hot or cool my processor is during idle sittings or during load. I don't know of any software that will enable me to read the temperature of my processor, but i do know that i can do so from the bios. I measure my load temperature by playing a game for a few hours, restarting my computer, and then checking its temperature. Is this the proper and most efficient way of checking load and idle temperatures or is there something else i could do? I have a amd athlon 64 processor.

http://www.almico.com/speedfan428.exe will allow you to view your temps from the operating system. You can run it while playing a game or while running Prime 95.
